Chef David is a native Hilton Head islander whose family has lived in the Low Country for over 175 years. Raised by his Great-Grandmother, Mary Cohen, Chef David learned the value of hard work, education, and discovered his passion for cooking.After returning to Hilton Head Island from culinary school at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Chef David worked his way up through the cooking ranks from Sous Chef to Executive Chef at restaurants such as The Sea Shack, and eventually opening his own restaurant, Roast Fish and Cornbread.Still innovating and evolving, Chef David has gathered some of his favorite recipes in one place and turned it into one of the most sought after Low Country cookbooks, Burnin' Down South.His famous Sweet Potato Cornbread is available for local delivery or pickup on Hilton Head Island.
